What is socially Acceptable in Japan Vs. US
Hey Guys! I wanted to share with you a little something what I learned about japan a beautiful country I was always intrigued by there culture since the moment I've watched my first anime, seriously no joke guys at the age of thirteen Instead of doing homework (sorry mom and dad) I was Studying the Japanese culture that's where my love for, Languages began to Germinate like a disease over my brain except it wasn't contagious! In other words, You might be like "whoa, cool." or maybe not because what I'm about to tell you is very top secret information only some people can probably stomach it.
I'm going to List 4 things that I know that are socially acceptable in Japan and NOT In the US
1. Don't Blow Your Nose In Japan
You Might have Heard about this or maybe not however, blowing your nose in Public is considered Rude In Japan It's not like your not allowed to blow your nose, you just have to blow your nose where it's appropriate. Not mention this, according to the book that I've read "Do not open" is literally the title of the book. they mention that picking your nose is socially acceptable meanwhile, in the united states it is NOT of course because it's just really gross. (although i see some people get away with picking their noses)
2. Wearing Face Masks
You would see people wearing face masks in Hong Kong, Korea, and even Japan Frequently. the wearer he/she doesn't want to spread the germs but it's not Unacceptable in US but you will get alot of people looking at you assuming you have a serious disease of some sort
3. Pouring Your Own Drink
It's simple really POUR YOUR OWN DRINK EXCEPT YOUR OWN! this is regarding to dinner parties and as well in Korea i believe this same rule applies. in my words you have both hands pour it yourself please😊
4. Soup Manners
Now Japanese Soups aren't typically eaten with a spoon?
so you're wondering then how am i supposed to drink my soup!
i would not recommend doing this in the US at all it's just looked upon like your probably a sloppy person or some people say only dogs do that. but the thing is dogs don't have hands they have paws! but you may understand that reference dogs eat with they're faces in with their own food bowl. but this is socially acceptable in japan
To conclude, every country is different but take these rules with you if you are considering Traveling to Japan. because the time when I'm ready to go i have rules in my pocket! but i will be sharing more from what I've learned so keep a lookout for my next post
Culture Makes people understand each other better
I Love you guys!
