Study Time with Tasha/Japanese Writing System!
Hey There! I'll be introducing to you the Japanese writing system! Exciting isn't it?
Honestly, the only thing fun is pronouncing the characters for those wonderful people who are currently studying Japanese or! who are already fluent you may want to take some notes!
I'm not only explaining what I learned about the Japanese writing system I'm going to show you how I learned it and since there is over a trillion kanji... Okay, I may be over exaggerating on the "trillion." part but at some point learning Kanji became a tedious thing I'm not going to lie.
(in more future posts I will explain step-by-step how I studied)
So first! let's talk about Japanese writing system you may know that this language consists of three different alphabets Kanji, Katakana, Hiragana. I highly recommend starting Hiragana First Please LOL reason I say this because I did the exact opposite!
Hiragana will be your basic head start before you dive into all the other marvelous characters and then you begin to learn words.
let me explain the good stuff!
Starting with Hiragana is all 50 character's but don't get scared! once you follow this simple method
Taking your time! trust me it helped I'm not 100% fluent in Japanese but learning the alphabet was a breeze.... well learning the first two was a breeze *ahem* KANJI!
The sounds are very short learning this one let me put it into an example...
Remember, When the learning the alphabet in English or even teaching it to a young one don't you sing the song saying Aaaa, Bee, Ceee, Dee, Eee, We do! because that's how English is. and you're drawing out the letter somewhat even when we're speaking!
No, we don't sound like sloths! were still cool (:
Example: I want an Ah-pple (APPLE) you can't say apple without drawing the "A" a little bit.
it will sound Odd if you don't
However, check this out!
you see the "a" the first letter on the chart is pronounced just "ah" no need to stretch the sound it's simply just "ah"
that's what made Japanese uniquely separated from English is the stress-free sound.
So here's what you can do practice each sound, challenge yourself! It took me a month to absorb these wonderful character's I shall leave the link below
Keep Studying guys! don't quit! your journey to fluency is near!
You don't learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing, and by falling over. ➤↝↟ Richard Branson
